PSB Speakers - the Century series of loudspeakers

The Image Series has recently replaced the Century Series. Some Century models may still be available at some dealers.

The Century 600i

The first of our two-woofer systems, the 600i is the smallest and least expensive of the three small-footprint, tower systems in the Century series. Its two 6-1/2-inch woofers have the same 32 Hz low-frequency cut-off as the 500i, but with greater power handling. Combined with the greater power-handling of its new 1-inch textile dome tweeter, the two new injection-molded woofers help the 600i provide the greatest dynamic range per cubic inch of all our speakers. The Century 800i

With two 8-inch woofers that employ new voice coil materials and higher-temperature adhesives for increased power handling, the 800i supplies the impressive bottom end at high listening levels you might expect, with a low-frequency cut-off point of 30 Hz and the ability to stir a lot of air in motion at all-out symphonic or rock levels in big listening rooms. It uses the same new 1-inch textile dome tweeter as the 600i , and has the same well-dispersed top-end response. You would be hard-pressed to make this speaker sound at all stressed.

There are two center-channel speakers in the Century series: the Century 100Ci and 200Ci. Both of them have extremely detailed clarity; they are able to retrieve voices and subtle sonic threads from dense, multi-layered sound. The primary difference between the 100Ci and the 200Ci is power handling, with the latter handling up to 150 watts.
